Ultrasound-Guided Biceps Tenotomy

Figure showing positioning for an ultrasound-assisted biceps brachii tenotomy in a horse
  • Client

Valerie Moorman, DVM, PhD, DACVS (Large Animal), DACVSMR
    Michael Perlini DVM, DACVR, DACVR-EDI

  • Purpose

Illustrate local anatomy as well as positioning of the ultrasound probe and spinal needle insertion location

This figure was created for a case report in Veterinary Surgery: Ultrasound-guided, minimally invasive, biceps brachii tenotomy in a standing horse.

To make this figure, I had the pleasure of meeting the research horses at UGA! One of the horses very kindly stood still while I watched Dr. Moorman position the ultrasound probe to discuss the procedure.
